- Memorize your manager's, skip-level's, and teammates' names
- Set up dev environment, accounts, and credentials
- Read every document in the team's wiki or shared drive
- Set up calendar with focus blocks and lunch
- Complete required compliance and security training
Week 2
- Schedule 30-min intro chats with 5-10 colleagues outside your team
- Ask manager: what does success look like at 30, 60, 90 days?
- Map who owns what — write it down
- Identify the team's most painful problem and one quick win
Week 3
- Ship your first real piece of work, however small
- Ask for explicit feedback on it from your manager
- Start a 'questions' doc — accumulate, don't ping piecemeal
Week 4
- Write a brief reflection: what surprised you, what's still unclear
- Have a 1:1 with manager covering wins, blockers, and asks
- Update LinkedIn and external profile with new role
Ongoing
- Keep a weekly brag doc — wins, metrics, kind words from others
- Set up benefits: 401(k) contribution, HSA, beneficiaries
